We’re ENGAGED!!

 

He asked and I said, "YESSSSS!!"

Oh my gosh, where do I even begin? The sun is shining brighter, flowers smell more fragrant, and the birds tweet a sweeter tune! Life is wonderful! 

It's been forever since my last post. It's because we are so intertwined with one another and created a life and routine that we long for and enjoy, I'm magnetically drawn to him, less my laptop.

Let's get to the latest and greatest... We went on a double vacation and got engaged!! The first destination was a dude ranch where we went on a cattle drive. Being on horseback, pushing cattle through the mountains, I couldn't quit smiling. It was surreal, an amazing experience, and watching him on horseback, we were unplugged from the rest of the world was magnificent!

After a few days at the ranch, hundreds of photos, and incredible memories, we drove down to Florida where my parents were staying and our days were action-packed and we were sun-kissed. One of our excursions we went paddle boarding in the Crystal River in the Gulf with manatees. Another day we fell in love with Siesta Key Beach.

So many amazing memories, so many fun stories, hundreds of photos, it would take me forever to share it all. 

Then, he proposed. Ladies, it was romantic, loving, and the words every woman should hear when a man asks a woman to be their wife. Caught completely off guard, he made it so special and absolutely perfect! I cannot wait to marry him!!

In two months he will be my husband and I will be his wife. Yayyy us!

A New Sunday Brunch Tradition

 

Today begins a new family tradition, a once a month Sunday Brunch in southern Ohio. 

It's with David's girls, their families and in-laws. It's a lovely idea and when we received the invitation, I didn't notice who created this new tradition and included us, it was Kelly, David's ex-wife. 

I love her! We have a wonderful friendship and she is someone I can definitely be good girlfriends with. 

How blessed are their girls that David & Kelly can come to all celebrations and share life with them in hugs, laughter, and friendship. I adore Tom, Kelly's significant other, and I absolutely adore her mom & dad, who have all become family to me.

In-laws included, it makes for fun gatherings and I look forward to our time spent with them. 

Divorce happens. Healing also happens. 

Fresh Air

 

Sunshine, windows open, Jimmy Buffett tunes, warmth and fresh air. Back up to 4:45 a.m. when David was heading out the door for bomb training and slips into our bedroom to give me kisses and a sweet, "I love you." I'm so in love and proud of him. 

What a beautiful start to the day! 

Nobody appreciates sunshine and warmth like those coming out of winter. To walk outside without a coat or jacket and the air doesn't feel biting brisk.

We grilled burgers and zucchini last night, it's refreshing simply making dinner on the patio. Daylight savings time, spring flowers pushing through the dirt, making their grand entrance into spring, and a couple vacations right around the corner.

Both our granddaughters, Claire and Emmy, with their 1st birthdays approaching only weeks apart. Us, grandparents, wildly in love with all our babies.

May God protect you, strengthen you, and may you rise up in a mighty way. 

God is watching, He knows, and He sees. May He give you peace.

His Day Off

One of the things I enjoy are the days I work and he has a day off. 

It's important that he has days off without me, to have hours on end of uninterrupted free time to do what he wants. 

Me, I get to come home to a surprise beverage, complements of him, dinner made, and a back massage. I'm so grateful for him and how super blessed am I that he is a fantastic cook!! 

 

A Glass Blowing Experience

 

For my mom's birthday this year, instead of a gift, I went with an experience. A glass blowing experience.

It was interesting walking in and seeing the furnaces, tools, and a gift shop full of glass decor. A quick lesson from the instructors showing us the entire process, then it was our turn. Typically, classes have 10 people in them; however, the day/time we chose, it was only us. Perfect! 

Picking our design and colors, we we learned how glass is made, colored, how to shape them, and we created our pieces above. 

Lunch, glass blowing, and touring a local art shop made for a fun afternoon.

My Love, My Valentine

Valentine's Day felt like Christmas. Cupid came the night before with a pretty package on the bed... an Apple watch and I was THRILLED! Another cupid package arrived, it was a heated mattress pad. Now, we slip into a pre-warmed bed which feels very spa like. Dual temperature control, we are mastering winter.

Then, came another cupid package on Valentine's Day, a pillow top backrest for our claw foot tub and my favorite bath bombs... then, a box of chocolates. My Valentine knocked it out of the park!!

We slow danced in the morning, worked out after work, and all we wanted to do was come home to make dinner and snuggle on the couch watching our shows. It was absolutley perfect! 

Of course I had a package of gifts for him, he is my love. And, I reminded him...
