How 51 Feels

I've ben asked several times... "How does it feel being 51?"

Are you kidding? It feels AMAZING!

This spring/summer is a fabulous blur of falling in love. Between our work schedules, ballroom dancing, warm summer nights, weekends jammed with plans, the weeks, and summer months are like pages on a calendar blowing by.

Stolen moments, twirling in his arms, dates, yummy wines and mixed drink concoctions, I am lost in him.

And family time... together we have six kids and five grandbabies. How blessed we are! Playing euchre with my parents, and live music and events with Don & Kandy.

Taylour's wedding was beautiful and I know David is one proud dad with his beautiful daughters! I captured the sweetest photo of him dancing with the three of them in his arms. Some moments you just want time to slow down so it doesn't pass so quickly and it was a beautiful moment.

Weekends filled with events are fun-filled and we are having the best time! Our next weekend with no plans is the end of August.

In a couple weeks is August 16th, the day we met.

How does it feel being 51? It feels like being established in life, my girls happy and married, in love with my grandbabies, secure in who I am as a woman and my world built around all I love. Then... falling wildly in love.

Promenade

We promenade. Sliding my hand in his, his arm braced in position, his hand on my back, my left hand nestled in the crevice of the muscles of his arm, he leads and I follow as we travel across the room.

Heads turned looking across the room... step, step, stop. Our heads whip around and we lock eyes. Does he know he exhilarates me? In our minds we are counting and learning new steps together and we are having the most fun.

What is this magic of stepping into this building? This large room wrapped in mirrors, wooden floors, chandeliers over head, and small tables and chairs on the outskirts for dancers to sit. We walk in with the promise of connecting and learning something new and passionate together.

We come home, open a bottle of wine, turn on Tango music and practice some more.

Does he know he's my home? His hands, his embrace, his kiss, his laugh, our conversations, this foundation we are creating. I step in his arms, slide my hand in his and am trusting him to lead, because I am all in.

This promenade is a dance between body and soul.

Claire is 3 Months

Sweet, little Claire-bear is 3 months old. I know her momma gets tired of everyone's opinions of who her babies look like, but Claire is her momma over, which means she looks just like Sofia, too, but with bright blue eyes and strawberry blond hair.

Always laid back and happy, I like to lay her down so I can look in her eyes and talk to her and she coo's. I reminder her she is beautiful and perfect, fearfully and wonderfully made, and that I love her and God loves her.

My sweet grandbabies.

How blessed I am to have their love. Their thrill when I walk in the door and their hugs and snuggles and kisses. Me, my heart is shooting off fireworks snatching each one up and loving them.

Ahhh... a day off and I'm thinking a fabulous coffee shop stop, a little shopping for my littles loves, arriving bearing gifts, and time with my babies.

The Tango

The Tango is known for being a romantic, vibrant, playful, and passionate dance in which a couple holds each other closely and makes abrupt - yet graceful movements. When David mentioned a couple of times wanting to learn ballroom dancing, we both agreed the Tango best reflects us.

It is love in an embrace; rich in expression and sensuality.

He is a Scorpio, I am a Leo. I say that because we both have strong personalities and I believe with all my heart, we met in our 50's because God knows best.

Stepping in his arms thrills me. The thought of learning this dance with him, honestly, will be second nature.

A Morning Rain

This morning is a live version of the Calm app. A melodious tune of relaxation and my heart rate has actually lowered 2 points.

Intense heat knocked out of the air and my flowers watered by fresh rain filled with nutrients. Their blossoms this weekend will be beautiful. My home quiet, no white noise to take away the spa-like tranquility.

I love the rain. It means... slow down... relax... refresh.

Papa Took Her Fishing

Papa took Sofia fishing and I cannot even handle how cute she is in her ball cap, braids, and sweet fluffy cheeks!
