A Message for Ukraine

A message for Ukraine...

In America, we are watching the horrors you are enduring on news and we are praying for you.

May God protect you, strengthen you, and may you rise up in a mighty way.

God is watching, He knows, and He sees. May He give you peace.

Praying in America.

His Day Off

One of the things I enjoy are the days I work and he has a day off.

It's important that he has days off without me, to have hours on end of uninterrupted free time to do what he wants.

Me, I get to come home to a surprise beverage, complements of him, dinner made, and a back massage. I'm so grateful for him and how super blessed am I that he is a fantastic cook!!

A Glass Blowing Experience

For my mom's birthday this year, instead of a gift, I went with an experience. A glass blowing experience.

It was interesting walking in and seeing the furnaces, tools, and a gift shop full of glass decor. A quick lesson from the instructors showing us the entire process, then it was our turn. Typically, classes have 10 people in them; however, the day/time we chose, it was only us. Perfect!

Picking our design and colors, we we learned how glass is made, colored, how to shape them, and we created our pieces above.

Lunch, glass blowing, and touring a local art shop made for a fun afternoon.

Happy birthday, Mom, we love you!

My Love, My Valentine

Valentine's Day felt like Christmas. Cupid came the night before with a pretty package on the bed... an Apple watch and I was THRILLED! Another cupid package arrived, it was a heated mattress pad. Now, we slip into a pre-warmed bed which feels very spa like. Dual temperature control, we are mastering winter.

Then, came another cupid package on Valentine's Day, a pillow top backrest for our claw foot tub and my favorite bath bombs... then, a box of chocolates. My Valentine knocked it out of the park!!

We slow danced in the morning, worked out after work, and all we wanted to do was come home to make dinner and snuggle on the couch watching our shows. It was absolutley perfect!

Of course I had a package of gifts for him, he is my love. And, I reminded him...

YOU are adored...
YOU are respected...
YOU are desired...
YOU are courageous...
YOU are brave...
YOU are generous...
YOU are considerate...
YOU are adventurous...
YOU are wanted...
YOU are valued...
YOU are kind...
YOU is funny...
YOU are intelligent...
YOU are admired...
YOU are breathtaking...
YOU are loved and YOU are my best friend.

It was the most incredible Valentine's Day I've ever had.

I've dreamed of this a thousand times before,
in my dreams I couldn't love you more,
I will give you my heart
Until the end of time,
You're all I need, my love, my valentine.

Unexpected Treasures

Sometimes I find myself trying to wrap my head around my thoughts between the world of "what is our life going to look like together" prior to us living together versus "what life really is."

My biggest worry was sharing a bathroom. My wonders were... will we be on the same sleeping schedule? Will I feel obligated to have to cook dinner every night? Being single, you eat what you want, when you want. Is he tidy? What is he like crabby? It was little things I wondered about.

The reality is... sharing a bathroom is nothing at all. Our schedules are slightly different enough where there isn't a conflict. He is actually a better cook than me! Wow, what an unexpected, super blessed surprise!! We cook together most nights. If I'm working, he cooks, if he's working, I cook. We eat REALLY well and extremely clean.

David is very tidy. I am as well and it actually matters. Out of all the household chores, the one I like least is emptying the dishwasher. Honestly, I would rather wash a toilet, I don't like putting dishes away. He does it for me. It's an act of service that is so sweet. He makes coffee every morning, which I love. He empties the dishwasher and I pack his lunch.

People in general are emotional rollercoasters, David is not. He is the most even, positive, always happy and loving and I find I have security in that and in him.

Last week, I was at the training center, he was teaching, and I was able to sit in on his class. He's such a man's man. As I sat their watching him in his element naturally commanding attention and teaching law enforcement how to handle a host is situations, I smiled to myself and thought of the man he is in my life. Incredibly loving, super affectionate, he showers me in words of affirmations every day and when we are home, we are in the kitchen cooking together, on the couch cuddling binge watching favorite shows, and going to bed and waking up together. Always touching. Always loving. Always affectionate. Every day.

It's safe to say he loves his career and with a very busy work schedule, he kept his promise and now has Sunday's off so we can go to church together. I know how big that is for him and I know he did it because he loves me and wants that for us.

Working so much I was worried we wouldn't vacation much together. One vacation down and the next two vacations booked only months away. He has made it a priority.

I love him and I love us. It may have taken me 50 years to find him which sounds like a really long time. Believe me, it was a lifetime!! But, he is so, absolutely, and totally worth it all!

Thank you, God.

Date Night Paint Night

I love new experiences and for Christmas Brookie planned a date night for her and I. My gift was a bottle of one of my favorite wines and our date night reservations.

Seeing different paint night experiences, I love that she chose a place where you can custom your own canvas versus painting something everyone else is painting, too. A little more money, she asked me for my favorite bible versus, and went for a more personal touch. Well done, Brooke!

There were so many more steps into creating our pieces than I would have imagined and it made for a super fun evening and memory. Now we both have a similar piece of art we created in our homes.

A bottle of wine, yummy cinnamon cookies, some Reggae music filled the air., and we painted.

My Brooke is very artsy and I want to say congratulations to my daughter for her new position as Art Instructor at the school where she works. What a perfect position for her, I'm so proud of you, Brookie!
